Welcome to West Coast Weddings

sunsetAre you looking for a location for your wedding that is out of this world? Somewhere that is spectacular, primeval or just plain beautiful? …welcome to the West Coast. Are you looking for something different, something with heart and soul, somewhere unique on this beautiful planet earth? …you have found it. Would you like a ceremony that expresses your love and commitment in a meaningful way? …great! You are in the right place. So, why the West Coast of New Zealand as a venue for your wedding?

coastThe West Coast of the South is a unique environment, stretching along the Western edge of the South Island of New Zealand. The coastline is in sharp contrast with the snow-capped Southern Alps. It is a primeval landscape with rain forests, wetlands, lakes, sculptural lime stone formations and 600k of coastline. There are five pristine National Parks, Kahurangi, Paparoa, Authurs Pass, Westland and Mount Aspiring as well as South Westland, which includes a UNESCO World Heritage Park.

There are two glaciers, Fox and Franz Josef. From Karamea at the top, to Jackson’s Bay in the South, there are many untouched beaches, waterfalls, wide river valleys, bush walks, mountain tops, lakes and rain forests. Go to www.westcoastnz.com for more information on the West Coast.

The Process

How to get married in New Zealand

Do you want to know more about how to get married in New Zealand? Contact me with any questions you have and I will endeavour to answer them. Then I will ask you a few to get a clear idea of how you imagine your perfect day.

What’s next

If you like what you hear, and you decide to come and get married on the Coast, then you arrange your own air travel and transport to your chosen location, decide on accommodation, venue and book the date with me as your (or another celebrant of your choice) celebrant.

I confirm availability of above and make arrangements re payment. You fill in on line wedding licence application form.

couple1I ask for short bio and photograph – it helps me get to know you. You start to think about the vows and promises that you want to say and how you want the ceremony structured. You decide if you need any assistance with choosing a photographer, flowers, transport or accommodation.

I answer more questions and assist you with writing the ceremony.

When you are happy with the arrangements and everything is clear I go ahead and confirm all bookings. You arrive in New Zealand, travel to location collecting your marriage licence on the way and sign the declaration at the Department of Birth’s Deaths and Marriages. You arrive at the location. I welcome you and, if time permits, meet you the day before the wedding. You make the final payment.
